Porter-Parsonsfield Covered Bridge. Porter, Maine. Spanning Ossipee River. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.
Porter-Parsonsfield Covered Bridge in Porter, Maine. Built in 1876 across the Ossipee River, it closed in 1960. Added to the National Register of Historic Places, it is one of only six remaining historic covered bridges in Maine. Two others are rebuilds.
Old Route 160. Porter, Maine. Before being rerouted, it passed through the Porter-Parsonsfield Covered Bridge. In 1960, a new bridge a couple hundred yards upstream was built, and the old covered bridge only served as a reminder of simpler times.
