Sparks that ignited the 1794 Whiskey Rebellion were from the same flint that triggered the American Revolution of 1776. Rebels were arrested, tried for treason, and some were found guilty. Many were eventually pardoned by President Washington.

Marked by a rich cascade of aromas, a hint of vanilla, creosote and burnt matches. Thick notes of molasses, brown sorghum, and charred cicada seduce the palate, and flirt to a finish accented by a tart kiss of citrus.

The casks were hauled aboard a classic full-rigged barque and allowed to repose for another nine months afloat, after fully maturing on land, in new charred American white oak casks for nine years. Bourbon and cask danced to the barometric fluctuations.

Aged six full years in new 53-gallon toasted and charred oak barrels, meticulously crafted individually by a Master Cooper. There are no shortcuts taken in the authentic pre-prohibition sour mash bill either. Just sayin’.
