Curtiss C-46D Commando 44-77575 'Honey Gal' is also ex Japan ASDF 71-1135. Seen preserved at Castle AM, Atwater, CA in Evening Sunlight.

The first time I saw one of these, I confess to having no idea what it was. It's a Douglas B-23 Dragon. This one is 39-047 (N880L) preserved at Castle AFB Air Museum near Atwater, CA.

This ex US Navy Douglas Skymaster has ended up in the Castle AFB AM near Atwater, CA. It's C-54E Bu.Aer 90407- although the USAAF ordered it as 44-9137.

This is such an old Stratotanker that it would certainly be beer tins by now had the Castle AFB AM not rescued it for their museum at Atwater, CA. 55-3139 is a KC-135A, last operated by the 92 BW at Fairchild AFB, WA.

This ex USAF C-130A is N473TM 'Tanker 63'. It's seen here at San Bernadino, CA but 56-473 has since moved to the Castle AFB AM at Atwater, CA.

It's not that obvious, even from this angle- but this is the 'long tail' SR-71A 61-7960 (or 64-17960 in the old money) preserved at Castle AFB Museum at Atwater, CA. The tail extension was so long it had to pivot up for landing.

F4 Phantom Castle Air Museum

The Beaver is one of those 'just right' aeroplanes. This DHC-2 is 54-1707, a U-6A (originally an L-20A), preserved at the Castle AM in Atwater, CA. It looks right, it flies right and it kinda IS right.
