The open road beckons
Some of the local flora
I'm guessing this is a Monterey centaury
We began by hiking up Blacktail Basin
If only all hiking was as easy as this
A bug enjoys an oxeye daisy
The day could never decide to be sunny or cloudy
It was easy walking down in Blacktail Basin
The trail gently weaves through the vegetation
Oxeye daisies populated the meadows
And now the uphill begins
Electric fencing (for cattle) discouraged off-trail exploration
The views improved as we gained elevation
Elegant brodiaea, looking elegant indeed
View to the power line ridge
Grassy trail on the hike up
We are just about at the ridge crest
Brad reaches the high point
Epic view of the rolling hills of the Habitat
Up we go as the day felt like it might get stormy
Elegant brodiaea was scattered throughout the low grass
Brad scatters some of the local fauna
View above Jackson Creek's drainage
Panorama from North Boundary Ridge
Why we hike, Reason # 1,000,083
