Pathway to oak tree glory
A leafless oak reaches for the sky
Trail, just about to crest a rise
Trees, seemingly ready to snatch my very soul
If you like oaks, then you will love Kanipe Park
So nice to hike through these oak glades
An oak tree points the way for me
Trees plot the snatching of my hat and hiking poles
The woods were thick with young trees
A thick and leafless forest flanked the trail
View to the fogged in valley of English Settlement
Leaf littered trail as it goes up and over a small rise
The weaving way through the trees

A hawthorn leaf joins in the color fun
The start of the hike on a gray and drizzly morning
And we are off and hiking
Didn't take long for the trail to narrow up
Mist mountains and hills loomed all around the park
The path soon became quite muddy
The brilliant autmn plumage of blackberry
All the colored blackberry leaves you could ever want to photograph
Did some slip 'n sliding on a slick trail
The colors had me wading into thorny blackberry brambles, camera in hand
Hawthorne trees were overgrown with lichen
