Many F-84 Thunderstreaks seem to be preserved around the World. This Republic F-84F has ended up preserved where they were mostly built, at Farmingdale, NY. It's ex MA & IN ANG 51-9480- and was actually built by General Motors in Fairfax, KA.
I've always liked the 'push me-pullyou' Cessna O-2. This one is N888B, ex 67-21448 named 'Loud Duck'- it's an O-2B. I think this one is still a flyer, seen at Farmingdale, NY. It went into AMARC in 1975.
Still in service, but also in storage and with many scrapped, the Fairchild A-10A remains contraversial- and popular. 80-0247 is preserved at Farmingdale, NY. It went in to AMARG in 2010 as an OA-10A.
My Wife tries the controls of a Beech C-45 (Beech 18) at Farmingdale, NY. She's 'plane crazy!
N4207W is an Aero L-39C that flew in the USA after its Warsaw Pact service. C/n 834605 is ex Czech AF where it flew as 4605. It used to be in Russian marks, but no longer... This pic at Farmingdale, NY.
The B61 is a 'popular' US air bomb- still in service, and a surprising exhibit at the American Airpower Museum, Farmingdale, NY. It's actually a 'boosted' or 'Thermonuclear' device- ie a Hydrogen bomb. These cost about 28 million USD each, and produce

The 'plane that 'really' won the War, was the Douglas C-47 Skytrain. This one is airworthy as N15SJ, and also flew for Israel as IDF/ AF 006. It was built for the USAAC as 44-76717. Seen in glorious colour in Farmingdale, New York, NY. It's a C-47B.
My Wife is always dragging me around these 'plane museums! Here she poses with NA Trojan 49-1496 in the American Airpower Museum at Farmingdale, NY.
