The rock being held up by a stick has been a graffiti target for decades. A story in the early 70s about it being cleaned up prompted a “graffiti crowding” soon afterward. Route 9 in Maine, near the Osborn town line.
The rock being held up by a stick. Formerly on the Airline (Route 9), near the Osborn, Maine, town line, it was bypassed. The size of the stick has varied over time.
